In therapy, we explore the past not to dwell in it, but to understand how and why patterns emerged and continue to influence you, for better and for worse. Awareness and understanding of maladaptive patterns are the keys to freeing yourself from them so you can initiate lasting change. Coming to terms with the past can help you embrace your present and future.
