About Lorrie

A balanced, meaningful life is important to me personally and professionally, and I strive to help you achieve balance and meaning in your life, too.
With more than twenty-five years of experience, I draw selectively from many sources for inspiration and guidance: from psychodynamic psychotherapy and crisis counseling; from yoga and Weight Watchers; from cognitive-behavioral techniques, dream exploration, and mindfulness; from literature and film; from nature and chocolate; from common sense, psychoanalysis, and Dear Abby.
Over the past decades, in addition to my private practice I have supervised and taught at Family Service Agency of Marin, Community Institute for Psychotherapy, and Crisis Support Services of Alameda County.
My essays on a range of personal and professional topics have appeared in many places. I believe in the power of language and other creative outlets for self-expression and healing.
